Rabbi Zvi Aryeh Rosenfeld zal received smicha in 1945 from Rav Avraham Yoffen zal, Rosh of the Beis Yosef Navardak Yeshiva, and in 1949 he received additional ordination from Rav Avrohom Sternhartz zal, grandson of Rav Noson of Nemirov and recognized leader of the Breslov community in Ukraine and Yerushalayim. Rabbi Zvi Aryeh Ben Zion b’Reb Yisrael Abba Rosenfeld zal passed away in Yerushalayim Ihr HaKodesh on the 11th of Kislev, 5739. From about 1960 until his passing, Rabbi Rosenfeld had the foresight to record many of his public shiurim, entrusting them to future generations as vital keys to the wisdom of Rebbe Nachman of Breslov. Rav Nosson b'Rav Naftali Hertz Sternhartz zal (1780-1844) was Rebbe Nachman of Breslov's closest student. His yahrzeit on the 10th of Teves coincides with the traditional fast day commemorating the destruction of the first Beis HaMikdash in Yerushalayim. Encoded in the sounds of the shofar is a plea from every human heart. There is deep kabbalistic in every sound, and different communities have special customs. Rebbe Nachman's shofar is being sounded here by Rabbi Zucker of the Breslov Yeshiva in Meah Shaarim, Jerusalem (studio recording). He has served as the Baal Tokiah for the Breslov Rosh Hashanah gathering in Uman for many years, B"H. He is following the tradition for the sounding as received from Rebbe Nachman of Breslov.
