The Rebbe's First Maamer! | The Mystical Meaning of 7 | Basi Legani 5711
The Sages state that All sevenths are cherished. This is the reason, they explain, why Moses was the one who merited to bring G-ds Presence into this world because he was the seventh from Abraham. The sages state that “all sevenths are cherished.” This is the reason, they explain, why Moses was the one who merited to bring G-d’s Presence into this world—because he was the seventh from Abraham. The fact that the seventh is cherished indicates the greatness of the first. What was the unique quality of Abraham? Abraham served G-d with self-sacrifice. “He called out in the Name of G-d, Master of the world”—the sages explain: not “he called out,” but rather “he brought others to call out.” This self-sacrifice is expected from each of us in the seventh generation. Even if one feels no spiritual strengths within himself, he is nevertheless told: It is not by your own choice that you are the seventh generation—you have the strength by the very fact that you are the seventh. You must realize how cherished you are, and how much has been invested in you. You will then fulfill your part in the mission to draw G-d’s essence into this material world . . . GOD's SHABBAT Message To EVERY JEW (A BeEzrat HaShem Film)
Rabbi Yaron Reuven emphasizes the importance of Shabbat observance in this shiur. He explains that keeping Shabbat is a commandment from HaShem, and failing to do so has severe consequences, including being cut off from the Jewish people and losing the chance of entering the world to come. He reminds listeners that Shabbat is a sign of faith in HaShem and that neglecting it is equivalent to atheism. Rabbi Reuven stresses that the current situation in the world should be a wake-up call for everyone, reminding us that life is not just about acquiring material possessions. He urges listeners to engage in Teshuvah, or repentance, by striving to do their best in all aspects of their lives, especially in observing the mitzvah of Shabbat. He reassures that those who put in the effort and do their best have no reason to fear because HaShem will judge them accordingly. Born in Netanya, Israel, Rabbi Yaron Reuven began his American Dream as a little boy, when his family immigrated to the United States. He went from a newspaper boy at the age of 10, to a well-known self-made Wall Street multimillionaire by the age of 23. During his time in Wall Street, he owned his own private brokerage firm, a hedge fund, and an international insurance agency. He was featured on CNBC, Bloomberg and Chinese NDTV due to his success in the financial industry. At age 26 he faced a 7-year battle for his life when a simple surgery went wrong. From that moment his life would never be the same. This moment marked the start of a series of miraculous events and an exciting pursuit of truth, ultimately resulting in Rabbi Reuven renouncing his lofty position and success in Wall Street, after 16 years, to become a full-time KIRUV rabbi. His Teshuva story is sure to catch the heart of every listener. Rabbi Reuven’s shiurim are in English and Hebrew. His classes are focused on spreading the truth and divinity of the Torah through MUSSAR, scientific proofs, and many other methods to reach each individual listener. The Lubavitcher Rebbe Lays Out His Approach to Jewish Outreach
Many observers remain stumped by the unparalleled success that Chabad continues to see in its efforts in Jewish outreach. "How is it," they wonder, "that the movement can maintain such a rigid adherence to Jewish law and observance, while still welcoming Jews of every stripe, no matter their background or level of observance?" In this fascinating talk, the Rebbe reconciles the apparent paradox and lays out his approach to Jewish outreach, for every time and every place. 13 Tammuz 5729 - 1969 FOLLOW US Facebook: @JewishMedia @JEMDailyVideo Instagram: @Jewish_Media Twitter: @JEMediaOrg YouTube: JewishMedia Website: JEMCentral.org
